Using Parsal blood clotting products is easy. Simply place the Parsal on the bleeding area and apply pressure. This pressure forces the haemostat into close contact with the bleeding area, a clot quickly forms and further blood loss prevented.
For life-threatening bleeding full compression (as taught as part of First Aid Training) is required. This gives the Parsal gel plug time to form and strengthen to hold back bleeding.
At each stage evaluate the efficiency of what you are doing. Do not forget about your own safety! All the manipulations, in possible, carry out in latex gloves. After delivery of care call ambulance. A tourniquet is the absolutely extreme measure to control bleeding and shall be applied only when all the other measures are ineffective.

Methods of bleeding control
- Control by “finger pressing”
In case of major bleeding it should necessary be stopped immediately by holding the wound with a drape or pressing the magistral artery to the bone above the place of the wound in typical areas (photo A-H) - Application of compressing bandage.
It is necessary to provide temporary control of profuse bleeding by finger pressing and then applying a gauze pad, rolled in several layers, on the bleeding wound. Over them the wound is tightly bandaged by crossing a roll gauze above the area of bleeding pressing. - In case of continuation of bleeding as well as major bleeding it is necessary to use a bandaging hemostatic sterile aid PARSAL®.
It is applied by pouring the aid into the wound directly to the source of bleeding. When used the product easily fills the wound chamber, is not attached to tissues, is not absorbed, after use is easily removed mechanically.
Nature of external bleeding types
- Arterial bleeding Blood of scarlet color, flows as pulsating stream in time with heart contractions. Such profuse bleeding of their magistral artery, if not stopped, leads to death of the wounded in a few minutes, requires assistance immediately!
- Venous bleeding Characterized by a slower filling of the wound with blood, which has definitive dark cherry color. In case of damage of large venous trunks, blood loss can be very significant and life-threatening.
- Capillary bleeding Occurs in case of any injury, but constitutes threat and does not stop spontaneously only in case of disorders of the hemostasis system in case of acute radiation syndrome, blood diseases, overdose with anticoagulants.
- Mixed bleeding It is characterized by damage of several types of vessels, usually intensive and requires emergency care.
